This is a very poinant film about negative attitudes of bus drivers to people who use wheelchairs. Perhaps the hardest hitting part is how the public gang up against Karen- no one tries to help her. Karen was deeply affected by this incident. She is thrilled that her story is being shared.

Emma is to run The Edinburgh Half Marathon on the 28th of May, to help raise funds for Equal Futures. Emma tells us: “I am in my first year at St Andrews University and am studying International Relations. I am doing lots of my training on the beach and around the town. Running such a long distance is very new for me and will be my first half marathon so am delighted to be fundraising for Equal Futures. A couple of my friends are also running the half marathon with me for other charities- we aren't the sportiest bunch so are all excited for the challenge! I went to nursery and Kinnoull primary school with Andrew so have known him for a very long time and my sister and I have been part of his circle ever since it was created. We have done lots of things together, my favourite being going to see Hairspray the musical in Edinburgh!”

Deidre Brock, Westminster MP for North Edinburgh and Leith, heard about Equal Futures and wanted to find out more about what we do.  One of our Mums, Monica Shaw, and I met with Deidre at the Equal Futures office.   Stories were shared of the difference the Circle has made for Monica and her daughter Lauren.  Monica reflected on how the Circle is nothing like she imagined, but is in fact so much more than she ever thought it could be.
